The Texas A&M Rocket Engine Design Team (RED) is a small student organization aiming to build innovative, high-performing liquid bipropellant rocket engines. The current system in development, Elysium, is a ~500 lb-thrust ethanol/nitrous-oxide engine.
As the Test Operations and Safety Lead, I am responsible for leading the team in the development of engine operating procedures, safety guidelines, and data analysis. I have been the responsible engineer for a number of test milestones, including the club's first 2 hot-fire tests' operating procedures and post-fire data analysis.
